28th-Sep-2008 07:36 pm - Pre Wallaby Syndrome
Two more weeks and ill be flying off to Queensland, Australia. Sadly, im so not looking forward to it. Sleeping in the middle of a jungle where temperature can soar up to 40degrees in the day and fall to 4degrees at night is not fun. Having your whole body covered with dust and eating it  is worst. Not forgetting the sandflies, scorpions, snakes and god knows what creatures out there lurking in the dark .The thought of leaving home, no shopping, movies, clubbing, chilling, msn, facebook, prisonbreak, gossipgirl for a month. How could i possibly survive that! Oh well, im serving the nation, suck thumb suck thumb.
3rd-Aug-2008 02:37 pm - Summer of 08
A little update on whats happening in my life for the past few months.

April 08 : Class 3 Military Driving Course
First time learning driving (a jeep). Had this 'ah beng' instructor Mr Lim who kept complaining about his troubled life-his beloved wife and two kids as well as his 21-yr old china mistress whom he kept boasting about her busty figure. He talks about how hard it is to handle both women, traveling to his mistress house on weekends and trying to avoid his wife suspicion. I pity him at times but serve him right for being such an unfaithful bastard. Sooner or later his wife would discover his undoings and this sugar daddy will be in hot soup.
Back to driving, passed my driving test on the second try. Actually should have failed because i stopped in the yellow box at the red light, but luckily the tester was lenient enough to pass me so who cares. Now i shall look forward to getting my free civilian driving license after i manage to clock enough mileage.

May 08 : Guards Conversion Course aka Advanced Infantry Training
I guess this is the most shiong course among the others. In order to get my khaki beret and guards tab. Got to complete a 12km fast march, 2km coastal swim, heli-rapelling and guards assault course (which is the most fucked up one).  The course started with a sudden turn out in the middle of the night. Doing pt in fbo in the night was seriously hell, and worst still i got an extra for not packing the essential items in my fieldpack. Heli-rapelling was fun but tiring. Had to train rapelling down towers and cliffs before going on a helicopter. The scariest part was doing the australian rapel facing down. Seriously your balls can drop but overall it was worth the experience.haha
Lastly the guards assault course. A 3day field camp ending with a 24km route march through the night, beach pt and soc the next morning carrying a 5 tonner tire (and the tire was called tub-bee) . It was seriously the most shag time of my life, glad that its finally all over. And im proud to be a Guardsman now  =)

June-July 08 : Lightstrike Conversion Course
This course is all about my vocation- a lightstrike trooper. Basically training with the Light Strike Vehicle (LSV) on public road and cross-country terrain. Learning all about the vehicle and its weapon systems. Every morning we would drive all the way from the East to the West to train then back to camp at night. The course ended with an under-slung exercise which is inserting the vehicle using a Chinook into enemy terrain and fight until we achieve the objective. The two good thing about the course is that we become experts in s'pore expressways and we get extra 50bucks to our pay.haha

August 08 : Combat Casualty Aid Course
A supposedly 1week course squeezed into 3days because of NDP. A useful course that teaches us all about first aid. How to treat injuries such as fracture, burns, lacerations and also bandaging wounds etc. And not forgetting the most dreaded infusion(iv) ! We get to perform iv on our buddies and practice poking needles into each others veins. I got poked twice cos my buddy MR LUKE CHEN missed my vein the first time. It was really painful and disgusting as u can see blood spilling all over the floor. I was screaming like hell when he was navigating the needle in my arm.haha. In conclusion, it is better to poke someone then to get poked.lol

Okay, now that my courses are over, its back to NDP commitments again. Saturdays burned due to NDP is seriously killing me. Cant wait for my block leave to come and i shall start playing again! I want to go mambo!
17th-Mar-2008 01:06 pm - First Post Of 2008
Finally passed out from BMTC. Having my 12 days block leave now. Kinda bored so decided to blog after so damn bloody long.

Many things happened for the past months since i last blogged. There was the A level period where i mugged like i never mugged before. spending 12hrs a day studying PCME + GP. I guess it was one of the most stressful period of my life. And im so glad that the 12yrs of education has finally come to a temporary halt. During that period of time, problems start to surface. relationship, health and family problems. A time where i have to do some serious thinking and decision-making. Hopefully people could understand and respect my choice.

So after the A's finally ended.which is a time for me to have some well-deserved rest and enjoyment. There was the prom night at marina mandarin. It was the first time i attended a prom as well as nominated for prom king. Really a memorable and enjoyable experience for me. After that was post-prom at Zouk where many more complicated things happened which i don't wish to elaborate on.

During the December holidays, went Hong Kong with my two best friends Nicholas and Clarence. Did lots of shopping and eating around HK and China. It was a time for us to really spend time with each other before we enter army. Had sessions of guy talk and reflections about life.Got emo at times. After the trip, i guess we were much more closer. Hopefully our friendship don't drift apart during our NS days.

In a blink of an eye, it was new year eve. Bidding farewell to 2007. Went Clarke Quay for the countdown party with my dearest Kesleen. Had an awesome night with her. Our first countdown and with many more to come. A Promise Made.

9th January 2008, the day i enlisted. A day filled with emotions, fear and doubt. From a civilian to a soldier, a drastic change for many 18-year-olds like me. Fortunately, i was able to adapt to my new life. Got to make many new friends, people from different schools, background and races. Glad that we could all click well, going through the tough times has made our bond and ties grew stronger. I would never forget the times we had in Tekong, be it during trainings or field camp. A memory that would last a lifetime.

Besides all the fun that i had in Tekong. I guess the 3 months in army have started to change me as a person. The way i think and act. I guess i have become more matured and independent. My self-confidence has strengthened as i learn to handle situations and deal with problems. I feel that i am no longer the one i used to be back in my schooling days. I guess going through army really do us good.Haha.

Towards the end of BMT, there was the release of the A level results. Tension started to build up in me as the day drew nearer. Before getting back my results, I told myself that what can be done is done. I have put in my effort and whether it turns out good or bad i still have to accept it wholeheartedly. So, the moment i saw my name appear on the hall screen. I was delighted and relieved. AAAB C. Better than i expected. Hopefully able to get into the course i wanted - NTU Business.

Recently had a BBQ gathering with my section mates at ECP. Had hell of a lot of fun that night. Went galavanting around Changi Village and Gelyang in our mini van. An eye opener for some of us who hasnt seen the 'entertainment' night scenes in Singapore before. Finally, had prata for breakfast at Thompson road the next morning and then home sweet home!

For now, awaiting posting to my new unit. Hoping to get into command school. Most probably SISPEC. OCS not sure.
Alright.looking forward to my next section outing.Lets club our nights away guys.Till then.
25th-Sep-2007 12:08 am - Post Prelim

Prelims are finally over. Wasnt really good i guess.especially physics.bad bad bad.
Which means that there is only 5 more weeks to the killer A's =(
I cant seem to find the motivation to start studying again.sigh
Hopefully ill start this week? Gotta practice more papers and qns.
Shall not worry too much.it will soon be over.yeah.soon...

Hmm.been thinking about life for the past week or so.i admit that i really think alot. which explains my countless white hair.lol
Im starting to miss basketball trainings.the 5 dishes we do during PT.the laughter, joy and unhappiness we share on court.
All these will become part of all the wonderful memories i had.will never ever forget.sobs sobs.
Sigh.i cant believe my jc life is ending so soon.it felt like i just entered jc! but come to think of it.i think ive become more matured.right? haha
But one thing for sure.my life has become much more happier and sweeter.hee =)

On a brighter note.caught two movies recently.Ratatouille and I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry.
Both movies were hilarious but i prefer ratatouille cus its much cuter compared to the latter.which is so gayish.haha
Ahh.really cant wait for A's to be over.then i can go for more movies, dating and shopping! =X

Anyway.saw this pic on the net.reminds me of something.

I think the girl is pretty.okay.thats not the point.
The caption says it all.it left me deep thoughts (yes again).
So girls out there.beware.
